Success is…

Success is different things for different people. right now I’m still “Fault finding” – one of my plugins is playing up and causing a lot of trouble.

Success is finding out what done it and stopping it.

Then I refocus on link building…

and success will be the growth of the backlinks produced…and the sales from the extra traffic.

Then I’ll redefine success and refocus on another goal.

Here is another version; this is from Ken McCarthy – it is part of an email

“…But some of my students do not succeed and that has long
puzzled me.

But now I think I know why.


First, let me define success.

Success is having an idea and following it through – with
intelligent adjustments – all the way to completion.

Notice: I didn’t say “make a million” or “retire in 12 months.”

I said get something DONE.

Every millionaire and multi-millionaire I know is an expert
at one thing: getting things DONE.

Not everything works the way we hope and not everything
produces a grand result.

But I can tell you one thing for sure:

100% of all projects that are not complete produce ZERO.

Zero is a bad number in business…

* Zero time spent on moving the business forward

* Zero new leads

* Zero new sales

On the other hand, moving the ball forward every day
even a little bit – 1% – and completing projects is solid
gold.

So why is it that if you give two people the same exact
information, one of them will use it to get rich while the
other will hear it, learn it, talk about it, dream about it
even and do nothing.

It’s because the dreamer doesn’t understand one thing.

It’s not about learning. It’s not about knowing.

It’s about DOING.

The successful Internet marketer goes to seminars,
reads books, listens to tele-seminars like a dog in heat.

He’s not going to be entertained. He’s not looking
for a charismatic guru to follow. He’s looking for ideas
he can grab hold off and make happen NOW!

As in right now. Now, this moment. Today.

Some ideas are complex and take time to execute
fully, but you can always start NOW.

You can start planning.

You can start writing down all the steps it will take to get
to where you’re going.

You can start making a timetable and lining up the
resources you need.

And then you can do the first thing on the list NOW.

If there is a secret, this is it.

Folks who are in learning mode are wonderful people
and learning is the first step to doing.

But, first and foremost, this is a DOING business.

They guy who knows 1% but executes 100%
will demolish the guy with a hard drive full of
stuff who doesn’t follow the simple advice in
this e-mail.

If you’ve been a “learner/not a doer,” you can change
that right now.

Do something that’s on track! Today. Tomorrow. Every day.

You’ll be amazed at how far something so simple can
take you.

It’s not about learning…it’s about doing.

PS and please don’t fall back “on I can’t do until I learn how” – yes that is partially true but most things in marketing can be learned in a few days.

It is about doing.
