But…

What will make you happy?  Do you know?

Will it be starting your own work at home Internet business or finding a special someone?

Or both?

:-)

Paul Evans has a saying, “Success is not an accident

He has to be right in that.

Successful people do not “hope” things will turn out right and they don’t make “resolutions” either – they just do what needs to be done to make “things” turn out right.

Successful people do not sit at home wishing that the Law of Attraction will make money for them. They do some research to find a good method of making money with a good coach or teacher at hand to help when they are stuck and they just get going.

And having read that you’re not going to be surprised by this “breaking news…”

It is not difficult to be more successful in 2010 than 2009

You just have to want more, plan more and do more!!

And here’s how …

You have to Want more

Many of us feel guilty about wanting more. We feel that we should be satisfied with what we have, after all our parents told us that…I won’t go on with that tape. It loops around in most people’s heads night and day. Wanting to live a happier and more relaxed life and being able to easily pay our way, support our family and give to charity seems a pretty innocent set of ambitions to me. So ditch the tapes, clarify what you want and move on to the next step eh?

You have to Plan More

This is easier than you think and I’m going to make it even easier by sharing some free resources with you so that you will start to enjoy, yes really, ENJOY planning because it will be easy and effective and get you what you want. More on this a little later so keep reading.

You Have to Do More

And this is easy once we plan properly. A proper plan is one that we can follow without much bother. Today I did the grocery shopping. I have a small notepad and a black biro in my kitchen and I jot needed items on it as I realise that I need them during the week. Come shopping day and I pocket the notepad and pick up the groceries.

Easy right?

And your plans to build your online business should be just as easy to follow and if they were you’d follow them wouldn’t you?

But here’s the thing – no one teaches us to plan. And so when we try to succeed online our attempts are fruitless. They are not consistent or well targeted and we do not have support or a back up strategy.

I noticed a great little interview yesterday on James Schramko’s blog. I know of James Schramko as an Adwords expert but he does a lot of things and he was interviewing Author and Success Coach Raymond Aaron.

I was familiar with Raymond Aaron as a speaker because about 18 months ago I attended an Internet Conference and he was one of the main speakers. What I did not know about was his approach to goals.

To hear this for yourself just pop over to James Schramko’s blog and get the podcast and download it to listen again but here is a short summary.

Raymond Aaron calls this the MTO method and the letters stand for Minimum, Target and Outrageous. The method is SO good that he trademarked it!

Aaron says, suppose you have a mess – perhaps a garage to clear out. It has been that way for 10 years and you have never “got round to it”. It’s clear that setting a goal of clearing the garage does not work.

The garage does not get cleared.

Your Goal setting or planning does not work and that means you need a new system – one that does work. So let’s try Aaron’s MTO system then eh?

Raymond says ask yourself ” What would be a minimum goal?”  That means a “no sweat” or “easy peasy” goal and it might just be rolling that used tyre out to the kerb so it can be collected. That would take all of 10 seconds. Minimum = easy = done! And because you have achieved your goal you get to feel good!!

Next ask “What would be a Target?”

A target to Raymond is a stretch! So this could be filling a refuse bag with stuff to throw out. This is a stretch because you have spent the last 10 years NOT doing it and feeling lousy. You do not have to do the stretch – you HAVE to do the minimum, but once you have achieved the M goal you may well find yourself feeling very open to being stretched. And if you do actually fill that bag you will feel wonderful!

And the O goal?

Well this could be filling 12 rubbish bags or taking all your tools out of the garage and only putting back what works and putting it on racks or shelves where it can be found easily – THAT would be outrageous eh?

Please do yourself a favour and listen to Raymond Aaron on this

I think you can see that using this MTO method so simply described by Raymond Aaron is going to make it easier to plan and easier to get stuff done.

So what do you want to do in 2010?

If you have not written any goals down for 2010 please do so NOW and post them in the Comments below. Also we’d love to hear of any tips you have for planning and succeeding so we’d love to hear of your experience on that too.

We not only WISH you a Happy New Year – we’re going to HELP you get that Happy New Year.
